WHAT IS SYNTHETIC ICE?

Home Ice uses synthetic use technology to provide an ultra-realistic hockey and skating experience to our users.

Synthetic Ice was first invented in the 1960s using materials such as polyoxymethylene plastic, which was development by DuPont. The synthetic ice at the time had significant flaws and was not a pleasant experience for skaters unlike today.

Synthetic Ice is a polymer material crafted for use with ice skates. Synthetic ice can also be referred to as artificial ice. Many top hockey players practice on synthetic ice. This just goes to show how realistic and practical it is.
